How To Make a Wine-Cork Holiday Wreath

When you have this many wine corks... people start to ask questions and pass judgment!

I have been collecting wine corks for months now, hoping that inspiration would hit me and Voila!

I used the most inexpensive wreath I could find because I'm covering it up entirely with burlap & corks.

Found this gem at Wal-Mart for $2.47.
I don't know how someone would make a traditional wreath with this thing because once you take that plastic wrapping off it sheds EVERYWHERE. Prepare for pieces of straw to cover your lap. I even took it outside and shook it a few times. Uber messy. Probably why it cost under $3.

Next step is to wrap the wreath with burlap using a hot-glue gun. This gives the corks something substantial to hold on to, and the burlap is somewhat the same color as the corks, so it's good camouflage if some of the wreath base shows through in-between the corks.

Once you have a completely covered the wreath by wrapping the burlap around it. You are ready for the fun part. Adding the corks! Here is mine after about an hour or so of agonizing over each and every placement of a cork. It's hard to try and NOT have a pattern happen! I didn't glue corks to the back of the wreath. Just all around the sides and in the center. Having a flat back makes it hang nicely.
Here it is once the corks were completely on.
Now all that's left is to hot glue some bright red berries in-between the corks that have bigger gaps around them, and add some greenery.
